Well, it is not everyday that a new console is announced, and that is why excitement is at its peak in the gaming community. Both the Xbox One, and the Playstation 4 have now been revealed to crowds of anticipating gaming journalists and streaming fans alike. It seems every major news outlet has taken an interest in gaming this week, and for good reason. These systems are touted to be the next step in gaming, as well as home entertainment. They will have a slew of new features, and will both launch this year.
Are you one of the millions of fans excited for these new consoles? If so, you may want to consider putting in your pre-order soon, because if Amazon is any indication, these systems are going to sell fast!
As you can see from the picture above, the Xbox One and the Playstation 4 are the best selling video game products right now. The curious part about the listing is that the Playstation 4 is listed in two ways: The launch edition, and the standard edition.
You’ll notice the Launch Edition for the Playstation 4 is not available. If you click on either PS4 listing, you’ll see that there is no difference between the launch edition and the standard edition of the console. The only difference is when you’re getting it. Amazon sent out an email to explain the difference to those lucky enough to have gotten a “launch edition”.
Here’s the email, entitled “Your PlayStation 4 Pre-order” :
The email explains which edition you have pre-ordered and the difference being that the “Launch edition” is release-day delivery eligible. You can also tell which edition you have by going to the PS4 page on Amazon an clicking on the different skus. You will notice on the top of the page that it will state “You purchased this item on ______” if that is the sku you have purchased.
So, were you lucky enough to get a PS4 “Launch Edition”?
UPDATE: Amazon has recently launched new PS4 Bundles that are listed as Launch Editions.
And the interesting part is that the Killzone, Watch_Dogs, and Battlefield 4 bundles are all in the top 10 for best selling video game items on Amazon.
